Rashed TorbatHeydarieh Power Plant: Gas Unit II Synchronized to Grid

The second gas unit of Rashed TorbatHeydarieh was synchronized to the national grid on May 10, 2024.

The power plant enjoys a capacity of 546 MW, comprising two MAP2B gas turbines, each with a capacity of 183 MW, and a steam turbine rated at 180 MW.

It also has two heat recovery steam generators (HRSG), an ACC cooling system, a 400 Kv substation, and a 6.5-kilometer transition line.

The construction of this project was driven by the goal of delivering dependable and consistent electricity to the national grid, with a particular focus on serving the Khorasan Razavi province in northeast Iran. Additionally, it lays the groundwork for potential electricity exports to neighboring nations.

Following this unit’s synchronization, MAPNA Power Plants Construction & Development Company (MD-1) portfolio now includes 160 synchronized units, collectively contributing 21,912 MW to the grid.

The power plant spans an expansive 37 hectares and is situated 12 kilometers northeast of TorbatHeydarieh city. Notably, the plant’s inaugural gas unit was provisionally handed over to the client in February 2023. The client of the project is Rashed TorbatHeydarieh Power Generation Co., and the consultant is GhodsNiroo.
